Pugs: Cute, Cuddly... and a Little High Maintenance

Let’s be honest—Pugs are adorable little weirdos. With their smooshy faces, curly tails, and big googly eyes, they’re basically stuffed animals that snore and follow you into the bathroom. But along with their charm comes... a few health “bonuses.” (And by “bonuses,” we mean extra vet bills and a lot of Googling.)

Pugs are known for their unique breathing—aka snorkeling in their sleep. Their short snouts can cause issues like snoring, wheezing, and sometimes sounding like a tiny lawn mower. Add in allergies, eye problems (those bug-eyes are cute but delicate), and the occasional dramatic sneeze, and you’ve got a dog that needs as much care as a Victorian child.

But we still love them. Because despite their high-maintenance quirks, they’re sweet, loyal, and make excellent cuddle therapists.
